Starmer and The Mail: Provocative Treachery

I didn’t pay a great deal of attention to the Sunday papers this morning. Why would you? 

But it was hard not to notice one particular knight of the realm writing an article for the soft-fash hatemongering Daily Mail. 

Before I fucking explode, here’s the article balance. I understand about reaching out to people who might not vote Labour. Totally. But it’s 2020, and with Jess Phillips by your side, you could knock on every single Mail readers front door 10 times over between now and the next General Election. 

Balance over. Starmerama fundamentalists may wish to disappear at this point.

You, Sir Keir Starmer, former director of public prosecutions and current Labour Party leader, are an absolute disgrace. The people who defend you are a disgrace, your communications team are so appalling, I don’t even know where to start. Starmer needs a Liverpool FC behind him, instead he has got Swindon Town. 

You, Sir Keir Starmer, need to detach your lips from the arse of the Etonian scarecrow. What do you think you’re doing? At least have the decency to tell people that you are the establishment to your very core. Stop this pretending and come out as an anti-Socialist. 

Any Labour leader worth the title does not write for the Daily Mail. How dare you endorse their hatred. Having the Labour leader write for you should be a privilege. The Labour leader does not go cap in hand to the gutter press. 

Do you remember what they did to the Miliband family? The besmirching of a dead man? Have a fucking word. Have you no shame whatsoever?

How about the 14 page hit job they did on Jeremy Corbyn, the day before the 2017 general election? Did you help them with that? You did your bit with your timed resignation. We do not forget. You wanted us to lose, you and your cabal of metropolitan pilchards. Ugh. You’re no Labour leader. You are a disgrace. 

I’ve got good reason to hate the Mail. They spent 3 weeks snooping around a council estate, trying to get dirt on me, seriously. They got nothing. So they had their reporter follow me down the road, calling my name out, banging on my door. They frightened my children and caused us a great deal of distress. I hate them for this, and I always will. I am just a person, I am not a politician, they have no right to harass me whatsoever. 

The only way I managed to stop further harassment was thanks to Unite the Union’s Howard Beckett. As a Unite member I was entitled to legal assistance, and Howard got them off my case. I can’t speak highly enough of Howard, and I hope he ends up Unite General Secretary one day. 

So I’ve got my reasons for viewing writing in the Mail as an act of provocative treachery. The bigotry, the division, the fucking finger pointing, they make me sick. 

Who would want to win over the fucking idiots who leave their comments at the bottom of a Daily Mail article? Have you seen the shit they come up with? They make Priti Patel look to the left of Rebecca Long-Bailey for crying out loud. 

You’re a shambles Starmer. You have no spine. You have no vision. You have abandoned socialism. You have betrayed the left once again. 

This left isn’t the one of the 1980’s. We really are many, as the ratioing on his tweet earlier today will show. They thought we would quietly disappear after Mr Corbyn stood down, and they still think this now. It was never just about Jeremy. Socialism existed long before Jeremy Corbyn. 

The cult they often accused us of being exactly what they are. You will see his supporters defending his decision to write in the Mail, just a day after offering Rupert Murdoch a virtual butt kiss, for establishment golden boy Sir Keir can do no wrong in their FBPE-tinted eyes. 

Starmer’s latest disgrace is the final straw for a lot of people. His actions are unforgivable.  

I urge Labour members to stay, at least long enough to influence the NEC showdown. 

I need a cuppa after that.
