Warning: Expel Jeremy Corbyn At Your Peril - Via @Rachael_Swindon

I think it’s fair to say the Labour Party is at war with itself.

It’s quite something for a former Party leader to come forward, supported by his former Shadow Chancellor, and SEVEN former Shadow Cabinet Ministers, and accuse the party machinery of intentionally SABOTAGING their chances of winning a General Election.

Is it unprecedented? I honestly do not know. Is it quite a remarkable situation? Yes, absolutely.

There’s not much point in me trying to present this as a balanced look at this remarkable situation. It’s just not going to happen, for quite a few reasons, but the most important reason is to relay what I see as the truth. And that doesn’t allow for balance, because you have to say it how it is.

So, there has been some media talk about Jeremy Corbyn facing exclusion from the Labour Party. It’s been alleged some individuals have told the Labour leadership they will drop their potentially costly legal cases against the party, providing the party expel Jeremy Corbyn.

I’m sure there’s a name for that kind of thing?

In my own opinion, I don’t think it will happen. Now I am fully aware the knight of the realm is trying to destroy everything Corbyn, riding in to the rescue of a relieved establishment. Labour is under BLUE management these days, you see.

You’d have to be a little off the pace not to notice the exclusion of left-wing members and activists. And despite the misleading briefings from the right-wing Labour hierarchy, Labour is LOSING around 2,000 members every week under Keir Starmer.

Again, a quick glimpse on social media will reveal countless left-leaners cancelling their standing order because they simply cannot stomach witnessing their beloved Labour Party, the home of democratic socialism, being turned back into a giant pair of lips that are permanently stuck to the revolting backsides of the establishment.

So yes, I’ve no doubt Sir Keir would love to see the back of Jeremy Corbyn, seeing as he’s been trying to get rid of him for the past 5 years anyway.

But stop for a moment - Starmer is many things, but I don’t have him down as stupid. For example, he knew what he was doing when he resigned from Jeremy Corbyn’s Shadow Cabinet, despite his resignation letter being one of the lamest snowflakey resignation letters in history, and he knew exactly what he was doing when he decided to make up a new ‘remain on the ballot’ kamikaze policy at Labour Party conference.

The latter example went on to cost Labour massively. Several million leave voters felt utterly betrayed, and that was down to Sir Keir Starmer and his ill-timed freestyling.

Excluding Jeremy Corbyn would risk a split that would keep the Labour Party out of power for a generation. Starmer is aware of this.

They had no problem sabotaging us in 2017 and 2019, because they preferred a Tory government to a socialist government led by Jeremy Corbyn. But are they really daft enough to sabotage their own chances or a big turnaround in 2024? Because that’s what’s getting rid of Jeremy Corbyn will do.

The financial implications would also be a huge consideration.

Unite General Secretary, Len McCluskey, has confirmed he will see out his full term, so he won’t be going anywhere in a hurry. McCluskey has already spoken out at what he sees as the party taking Unite’s money for granted - and as the Labour Party’s largest donor, is Starmer really looking for a scrap with the Unite boss?

I’d advise against it.

I spoke with a Labour MP yesterday, and they seem to agree with my assessment - “It would destroy the Party and would make the Change UK shenanigans look like a minor disagreement.”

Starmer was extremely lucky to inherit a debt free party, and he was very lucky to inherit the largest political party membership in Europe.

Does he think this is down to a sharp suit and a bit of Brylcreem? Does he think Ed Miliband built the Labour Party that he inherited?

He knows this was down to Jeremy Corbyn, and his remarkable ability to take politics to a wider audience, outside of the Westminster bubble. He energised people, he gave people hope.

Jeremy Corbyn built this Labour Party, and if Sir Keir removes Jeremy Corbyn, the foundations will crumble.

I also caught up with former Labour MP and Shadow Minister, Chris Williamson, just last night, and asked for his thoughts on the current situation. He said -

The election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader saved the Party from total irrelevance. The common sense socialist agenda he spearheaded gave hope to millions and inspired hundreds of thousands to join.  Were it not for the activities of the saboteurs, I'm convinced the membership would have risen to more than a million and a socialist Labour government would now be in office.

But most of the Parliamentary Labour Party and the party's bureaucrats have demonstrated by their actions that they do not serve the aspirations and interests of the people the Labour Party was created to serve.

The smear campaign that was waged by vested interests outside the Party to destroy the Corbyn project, was shamefully amplified by Labour MPs and apparatchiks. The prospect of a genuine ethical foreign policy, an accountable democratised media and redistribution of income and wealth was intolerable to them.

The destruction of the Corbyn project is not enough for the haters, they now want to destroy the man.

But the calls to expel Jeremy will spectacularly backfire, because it will provide proof positive that the Labour Party is now just another establishment party like the Democrats in the US.  The characters who stole hope from millions are guilty of overreaching themselves and could end up being cast into oblivion where they belong.”

Hard to disagree with any of that really, isn’t it?

Let me repeat this one sentence.

“The destruction of the Corbyn project is not enough for the haters, they now want to destroy the man.”

Possibly the truest thing you will hear today.

For those who don’t know, Mr Williamson is involved in some brilliant stuff right now. You can find out plenty more about The Resistance Movement RIGHT HERE - and try and take a moment to check out Resistance TV - it’s loaded with some excellent socialist content and has regular live events with guest speakers galore.

Who knows, I could be completely wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time and I doubt it will be the last.

But Starmer’s shameful attempt to reposition the Labour Party can only go so far, and the removal of the former leader, may well be a step too far for the man who preaches unity in public, but speaks the language of treachery when it seems nobody is listening.

Starmer’s leadership campaign was built upon 10 pledges.

Not one of those pledges mentioned purging socialists from a socialist party.

Not one of those pledges mentioned failing to provide any robust opposition while 65,000+ of our loved ones lost their lives.

Not one of those pledges mentioned pushing the Labour Party to the brink of bankruptcy.

Not one of those pledges are worth the paper he scribbled them down on.

Expel Jeremy Corbyn at your peril.

Have a great week friends.
