Why On Earth Would You Trust A Single Word Keir Starmer Says?

We are just a few days away from the compulsory coronation celebrations - a bit like the mandatory mourning we had for the Queen - and we know the hypocrites of the right-wing mainstream media will be full of glorified pro-monarchy bullshit for days, if not weeks to come.

So I’m not going to waffle on about Charles and Camilla when I can stick it to Keir Rodney Starmer and his band of Poundshop Tory wannabes.

Let’s crack on.

Just for absolute clarity, I will not support Labour, I will not defend Labour and I certainly won’t be voting Labour come hell or high water.

I don’t do “the lesser of two evils”, there is no least worst option, and the idea that we should get Keir Starmer in government and then try to convince him to honour the pledges he made in 2020 is so unbelievably naive that only a Starmer-supporting centrist could ever believe it to be possible.

Let’s talk about proportional representation for a moment.

Just last year, and backed by Unite and Unison, Labour delegates at the Labour Party conference voted in favour of supporting a PR voting system. When pushed on it at the time the lying Labour leader claimed that he had other priorities.

But Starmer now actively opposes PR because true electoral reform would threaten the undemocratic power of the ruling class.

The Electoral Reform Society claims a whopping 23 million votes count for absolutely nothing. Do you feel like your vote counts for anything? The status quo in our politics has failed so many people for so long.

It’s not just the left of the Labour Party that’s pro PR. Two-thirds of trade unions support the shift to PR as does a majority of the electorate who have spent decade after decade being disenfranchised on an industrial scale.

A party that gains power through the FPTP system is hardly likely to change it, and the Labour delegates voting in favour of PR makes no difference to Labour’s general election manifesto as that will be decided by Starmer and his right-wing National Executive Committee.

The only hope I can see for proportional representation lies within the possibility of a hung parliament following the next general election, because the pro-PR Lib Dems - still wounded from the other Tory party they supported thirteen years ago - are likely to insist on PR legislation as a price for their parliamentary support.

You might think the possibility of a hung parliament is ludicrous. I don’t. I have watched Keir Starmer turn a seemingly unassailable 39 point lead into a 13 point lead in the space of just a couple of months.

That’s the problem with Starmer. You may think he looks the part in his Burtons suit, but once you remove the cloak of invincibility gifted to him by Johnson and Truss you realise he’s just another posh boy trying to bullshit his way into power.

Sure, the Labour Party will make significant gains at the local elections, but this isn’t a pro-Labour or pro-Starmer election, it’s an anti-Tory election.

The Tories deserve an almighty drubbing on Thursday evening, but is the Labour Party a worthy benefactor of the discontent for the Tories? Is it fuck.

If you haven’t got a socialist candidate standing in your area I would suggest voting for the Green Party.

You can call it a protest vote if you like, because you’re probably not a supporter of regulated capitalism, but at least your conscience will remain clear and you have voted for a candidate that best represents your socialist values.

I am in no doubt those last 2 paragraphs will have the shithouse Starmer loyalists foaming at the mouth and ready to scream “Tory enabler”, but you can also be in no doubt that I couldn’t care less.

A Labour Party that commits to further NHS privatisation is a Labour Party in name only.

A Labour Party that brazenly takes cash from ex-Tory donors with interests in private health care is a Labour Party in name only.

A Labour Party that refuses to stand in solidarity with the working classes that have never needed a hefty pay rise as much as what they do right now is a Labour Party in name only.

A Labour Party that cannot lay out a comprehensive plan that is meticulously designed to put an end to homelessness and rough sleeping is a Labour Party in name only.

A Labour Party that has abandoned even the slightest pretense of possessing a functioning internal democracy and continues to stitch up the selection process in favour of centre-right Starmer-sympathising carpet baggers is a Labour Party in name only.

Do you get where I am coming from here? No matter how many times you tell me it’s Tory or Labour I will keep telling you it is Tory or Tory.

Even the most dense of the centrist dads is fooling themselves if they think Starmer is going to offer them the crumbs from the table when there’s plenty of dirt on the floor to share around.

I will continue to oppose this fraudulent Labour Party with the same vigour that I oppose the Tories because there is barely a fag paper between them these days.

The shambles surrounding Starmer’s opposition to proportional representation was a shambles of his own making and yet another demonstration of sycophantic Starmer’s willingness to bend over backwards for his establishment sponsors.

We see through Starmer because we choose to do so. Starmer’s supporters choose to ignore the obviously critical defects because their lust for a taste of power is greater than their want for a better tomorrow.

And the left are supposed to be the bad guys? The Tory enablers? The Corbynite-Tory axis? Working hard for a Tory majority? Blah blah blah.

And remember exactly who it was that enabled a hard Tory Brexit, the worst response to Covid-19 in the western world, further cuts to public services, and the fucking disgraced criminal liar Boris Johnson.

We’ll take no lectures whatsoever from the Starmerites - not now, not ever.

Until next time,

Rachael
