Starmer’s Labour: Back In The Pockets Of The Rich And Powerful

The Labour Party is back in the deep pockets of ridiculously rich donors.

The transformation from Corbyn’s Labour, funded by the cleanest money in politics, to Starmer’s Labour, funded by individuals and corporations in the expectation of access and influence, is complete.

Keir Starmer and his cabal of soft Tory headbangers are trying to sell their betrayal of the working classes as a solid guarantee that Labour are now ready for government.

Who would’ve thought the loss of 180,000 party members would have such a dramatic impact on the finances of the Labour Party? Anyone with half-a-brain, I would suggest.

It was reported this week that the Labour Party has raked in some £6 million in donations in 2022 - the highest in a non-general election year since 2008, according to the party.

Just over £1 million came from unions - despite Keir Starmer’s refusal to support striking workers - isn’t it time for union members to consider where their hard earned cash is ending up?

Why on earth would a striking worker in Sheffield who has loyally paid their subs since the beginning of time want their money to fund more Londoncentric focus group consultations and the development of centre-right MPs loyal to the establishment doctrine?

Keir Starmer’s state-sponsored Toryism is the antithesis of the democratic socialism the Labour Party is supposed to represent.

Starmer is an enemy of the poor and working classes, be in no doubt of that. He is advocating for the same failed ideology that has caused destitution and desperation for millions of us while increasing the wealth of the fat cats and the huge corporations off the back of your hard work.

Keir Starmer is business-as-usual personified. At least David Cameron had the nerve to admit he was a Tory. What’s your excuse, Mr Starmer?

The spirit of Cameron and Osborne lives on in the pointless carcasses of Starmer and Reeves.

The Labour Party’s biggest donor in 2022 was the returning ‘Lord’, David Sainsbury.

Sainsbury has a long history funding Blairite Labour.

Between 1996 and 2006, when he stood down as a government minister, Sainsbury donated £16 million to the Labour Party, usually in batches of £1 million or £2 million each year.

In 2016 Sainsbury also donated £260,000 to the purple Blairite think-tank, Progress, and then in 2017 he announced he would no longer fund the Labour Party.

I can’t for the life of me work out why a multi-millionaire like Sainsbury wouldn’t want anything to do with Jeremy Corbyn’s tax-the-fucking-rich Labour Party. Can you?

But Sainsbury has returned to Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, safe in the knowledge his £2 million Starmer splurge will be an investment rather than a donation.

Sainsbury’s daughter, Franceca Perrin, also got in on the act, now there’s very little chance of the dirty S-word making a comeback in the foreseeable future.

Perrin donated £500,000 to the party in the three months to September 2022.

I mean, if I suddenly found half-a-million quid and foolishly handed it over to Keir Starmer do you not think I would expect something for my costly moment of insanity?

Regular readers will know about the two former Tory donors that hand over their cash to the Labour Party. They will also know that Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting have been directly funded by a former Tory donor with interests in private healthcare.

This is why Starmer and Streeting continue to support the outsourcing of healthcare. Do you really think they are going to bite the hand that feeds them?

And so we swiftly move on to Sue fucking Gray.

No, partygate wasn’t a “left wing stitch up”.

Keir Starmer and his Labour Party are not left-wing and they’re certainly not capable of organising a massive stitch-up, let’s be honest.

It was an obvious angle for a shit rag like the Daily Mail to take. Just throw in “left-wing”, a bit of “wokeism”, and “poor Boris Johnson”, and the Mail readers - becoming fewer by the day - will turn a fetching shade of beetroot, much like they do if you mention Meghan Markle or Shamima Begum.

I wonder what it is the hate Mail has against Begum and Markle?

I don’t know about you but I got sick of hearing Sue Gray’s name a dozen times an hour in 2022.

I’m sure Sue is no problem to have round for a cup of Yorkshire Tea and a slice of Madeira cake, but the Chief of Staff for the likely next Prime Minister, the Tory-charmer Starmer?

You can understand the gripe. Sue Gray’s report was sold to us as the follow up to the New Testament. It was What’s The Story Morning Glory following Definitely Maybe.

The report played a huge part in the downfall of Boris Johnson, and they haven’t actually recovered in the polls ever since.

And now Sue is going to be Starmer’s Chief of Staff? Believe me, she’s no Karie Murphy.

Murphy was Jeremy Corbyn’s Chief of Staff. She didn’t have a groveling establishment media on side and was routinely targeted by the right-wing elements within the Labour Party. She believed in Jeremy, the movement and socialism.

Sue Gray does have the media on side and she won’t ever find herself targeted by the Labour right, obviously, although if the Socialist Campaign Group of MPs get angry enough they might fire off a letter of discontent on A4 headed paper.

That’ll teach her a lesson.

The appointment of Sue Gray isn’t a partygate conspiracy, Keir Starmer admitted last January that he knew Gray 10 years ago.

Starmer said, ““Full disclosure, I know Sue Gray… I know her personally… she has got huge integrity and huge respect.”

This is just a case of the establishment getting its shit together before the inevitable demise of the Conservative Party and Keir Starmer’s victory by default.

The charge of “Tory enabler”, often leveled towards us on the left by those folk with the FBPE thingy and an unhealthy admiration for Keith, will only fall upon the deafest of ears.

These people swear they supported the Labour movement throughout the Corbyn years when in reality, most of them are Lib Dems dripping in the blood of their austerity and tarnished by the hard Tory Brexit that didn’t need to happen had they learned the simple art of compromise before attempting grown-up politics.

If you Starmer supporters want a right-of-centre Labour Party just be honest about it and stop trying to pretend you are in any way left-wing when much of what you agree with is pretty standard one nation Tory nonsense.

The Labour Party belongs to big business, private donors, Tory supporters, lying morally-bankrupt MPs and wealthy foreign interests.

Good luck voting for that little lot. I won’t be, because I am a socialist.

The Labour Party is no longer for sale because the Labour Party has well and truly sold out.

Until next time,

Rachael
