There Is No Limit To The Moral Depravity Of The West

The weaponisation of Unrwa funding for political motives seems to be a new low for the West, showing that there is no limit to their moral depravity.

Israel has long despised the Unrwa. Why? Because they are the only UN agency that provides a lifeline for some 6 million Palestinians, which includes a besieged refugee population of over 2 million in Gaza currently facing a genocide

It is no coincidence that the defunding of Unrwa came swiftly after the International Court of Justice had issued its interim ruling recognising that the risk of genocide by the state of Israel was plausible.

Israel and its allies needed a rapid response to the ruling of the ICJ, and respond they did, by handing down a death sentence to the besieged refugee population of the Gaza Strip.

More than 70% of the world’s famine is currently in Gaza, yet the entire state of Palestine makes up just 0.07% of the global population.

But this isn’t just about food.

This extension of the genocide campaign is also about schooling, healthcare, jobs and infrastructure projects in the Palestinian refugee camps where Unrwa operate, and this further contributes to the irreparable devastation being inflicted on Palestinians.

This incredibly dangerous move by a number of countries to suspend payments to Unrwa will have catastrophic consequences for the people of Gaza. The countries involved know this. They are complicit.

The willingness of Western leaders to believe absolutely everything they read on Eylon Levy’s Twitter feed is as hilarious as it is scary.

If you’re not familiar with Mr Levy and his work, make sure you keep it that way. Imagine Joseph Goebbels with an Instagram account.

Until the British parliament calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and suspends ALL arms sales to Israel, it is complicit in the murder of innocent civilians taking place every day in Gaza.

The British complicity stretches beyond anything most of us will ever be able to comprehend. This isn’t even about left and right, this is quite simply about what is right and what is wrong.

Britain has played an active part in the genocide of Gaza, from covert information gathering to letting at least 6 Israeli air force aircraft to in to Britain, for reasons the government refuses to disclose.

Britain and other partners of genocide called for Vladimir Putin to face justice for the death of 520 Ukrainian children in nearly 2 years of war, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The butcher of Gaza, Netanyahu, is responsible for the deaths of around 13,000 children in 3 months of brutal collective punishment. Where is his arrest warrant? What or who are they afraid of?

More than a week has passed since the International Court of Justice made their interim ruling. More than 1,000 innocent people have been murdered by Israel in this time, and this doesn’t allow for the scores of humans lying dead under countless tonnes of rubble.

The images of lifeless, damaged children haven’t stopped. The heartbreaking videos of orphaned children having to become the main caregiver to their infant siblings just keep coming.

The screams, the tears, the desperation, the trauma, the blood, the carnage, it just isn’t stopping.

And people wonder how the Nazis got away it? Fucking hell, open your fucking eyes, and if they’re already open you need to stop looking the other way and focus solely on the continuing genocide.

The killing must stop immediately, of course, but let’s not pretend this is two military superpowers going toe-to-toe when in reality it is an Israeli terrorist regime and the bombs of Biden pounding the mostly-unarmed people of Gaza.

So forgive me for being somewhat sceptical of this talk of a ceasefire.

The last pause in Israeli genocide resulted in a greater number of Palestinians being detained than the number Israel released.

Many of the released Palestinian hostages spoke of torture, sleep deprivation, hunger and dehydration. Many of the released Israeli hostages spoke of how well they were treated, and their biggest fear was being bombed to death by their own government.

Israel will not honour any ceasefire that it agrees to. You know as well as I do they will dress up as Palestinian militants and film themselves firing rockets towards Tel Aviv. It’s not like Israel has any issues with killing their own citizens.

The Hannibal Directive isn’t the fantasy of an antisemite conspiracy theorist but it is an Israeli military policy aimed at preventing the capture of Israeli soldiers by enemy forces - at any cost - and that is a human cost.

If Israel will kill its own indoctrinated citizens and soldiers without a second thought, what hope is there for the children of Gaza that will continue to live under the shadow of a bomb, with or without a ceasefire?

I will keep saying this until I am blue in the face: This ‘war’ didn’t start on October 7th. The killing and displacement began in 1948 and it has been a scar on our shared humanity and conscience ever since.

Israel had two main objectives. Hamas had to be destroyed and every single Israeli hostage was to be saved. So how is that going?

Israel cannot destroy Hamas. You cannot destroy an ideology with bombs and guns. Rescued hostages? They have killed more of their own hostages than what they have rescued.

So, Israel is either inept beyond comprehension or the real objective was to murder as many Muslims as Biden will allow, making way for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza and the rehoming of thousands upon thousands of armed colonialist settlers, built upon the rubble of a children’s graveyard.

Of course, it could be six of one and half-a-dozen of another, but what we can agree on is the multiple atrocities being committed by the pariah state of Israel are some of the most heinous, wicked acts of unconscionable depravity and criminality in our lifetimes.

One of the greatest non-human costs to the morally bankrupt Western powers is the emergence of the Global South and its challenge to the order that has been installed by the West.

The Global South has stood firmly against the Western criteria of moral superiority. It calls into question an international rules-based order established by Israel’s most powerful ally, the United States.

How can the rest of the world accept our supposed moral authority when we have proven beyond all reasonable doubt that we care more for protecting Israel’s now-destroyed credibility than we care for the victims of genocide?

It’s over. The colonised have simply had enough of the colonisers. And who can blame them? We’ve invaded more than half of the world, and for what? Death, destruction, war, hatred and global instability.

Britain’s global reputation was trashed some time ago. Backing the genocidal Israeli regime merely added to the utter shit that we have become following decades of neoliberalism and the normalisation of Israeli money flowing into our political institutions, corrupting every single corner that it can reach.

The times, they are a-changin’, and we owe it to the Palestinian people and the generations that follow ours to stand on the right side of history and challenge the hateful Zionist ideology wherever we may find it.

We will be judged by the actions that we take today. We can sit on our hands and say nothing, or we can be the change that we wish to see.

Every protest, every tweet, every conversation, every voice that is raised above the parapet: it all matters, because doing nothing for Palestine is no option at all.

Until next time…
