Privatisation, Austerity And Cronyism With Labour - And You’re Supposed To Vote For This?

With it being a Sunday I thought I would start on a religious note and welcome the comments from Pope Francis towards the left-wing award-winning filmmaker Ken Loach, this week.

The holy one said:

“Like the biblical prophets, you confront things that at times are uncomfortable; you criticize today’s false myths and new idols, its empty talk, the ploys of consumerism, the schemes of power…”.

The pontiff, known for being outspoken towards the corruption of power, wouldn’t have a chance of being a member of Keir Starmer’s Labour Party and if he was already in the party he would be denounced as a virulent antisemite and sent packing back to the Vatican.

Loach, who turned down an OBE, “because it’s not a club you want to join when you look at the villains who’ve got it”, can feel vindicated now he has the approval of the Bishop of Rome Pontifex maximus Pope.

Personally, I don’t believe there’s an old fella with a white beard living up in the sky, but if I needed a straight answer to a straight question I would definitely WhatsApp the vey holy dude before the lying Antichrist Starmer even gets a look in.

I don’t think anyone was particularly surprised to see Labour turn their backs on poor and hungry children following their announcement this past Tuesday that they won’t be offering free school meals to all primary school children.

Despite dozens of MPs from the left and right of the party piling on pressure - as well as the National Education Union, Labour Metro Mayors and the CWU - Starmer refused to support the possibility of every primary school child receiving a free school meal.

In true new New Labour fashion a Labour spokesperson told Rupert Murdoch’s Times, “This is not Labour policy and we have no plans to implement it.”

So that’s that then. Rupert’s next government continues to take shape at great pace because the treacherous sycophant Starmer will bend over in multiple directions for the shrivelled ballbag, Murdoch.

This school meals disgrace follows Starmer’s recent abandonment of his childcare pledge which makes you wonder what it is he has against children.

Children from Carlisle to Canterbury and Grimsby to Great Yarmouth will suffer under a Labour government that is hellbent on austerity 2.0. Haven’t we had enough of that from the Tories over the last 13 years?

Austerity doesn’t just lead to shorter lives for adults, it even leads to children growing shorter due to the nutritional and social circumstances caused by the effects of unnecessary ideological public spending cuts.

“Both Conservatives and Labour in Britain put high priority on economic growth. I would rather see growth and reduction in inequalities in the height of five-year-old children.”

Michael Marmot - director of the Institute of Health Equity at UCL.

Labour supports higher mortgages, kids going hungry, private sector involvement in your NHS, fuelling global conflict, dining with Google UK, and take a fortune from hedge fund bosses, yet it is *us* that you call a “Tory enabler”?

Laugh out fucking loud.

These right-of-centre pretend leftists that support the Starmer regime can call themselves “Labour” as much as they want, but the evidence quite clearly suggests they are vocal proponents of conservatism.

The Labour faithful speak of “hard choices”, which is their way of saying “difficult decisions”, but what is so hard about making sure every single primary school child is eligible for a free meal when we let Google decide how much tax they wish to pay?

Starmer remains hellbent on crushing the spirit of socialism on his way to a seemingly comfortable victory against a Conservative government so hated that a donkey wearing a red rosette would stand a good chance of a landslide general election victory against them.

The only thing that matters to Keir Starmer is the destination. The route he takes to get there is of very little consequence because he has already demonstrated his willingness to ditch a principle for a column in the Daily Mail.

Starmer’s hostile environment within the Labour Party, where dissent is neutralised through bullying, selection stitch-ups, and smear campaigns, is a microcosm of what a Starmer government will look like.

You would’ve struggled not to notice the Thames Water debacle over the past week and once again the renationalisation debate gets another public outing.

I was disappointed, albeit not surprised, to see Keir Starmer fail to seize the moment by backpedaling on his last backpedal from the backpedal before that, and committing to renationalise our water supply.

It’s a gift. An open goal. All Keir Starmer needed to do was slot the ball into the back of an empty net.

In other *entirely unrelated* news, Liv Garfield, the boss of the water giant Severn Trent, is trying to bring a taskforce of utility bosses together with the Labour party in a desperate attempt to stifle the threat of nationalisation.

Sadly, at least for £4m-a-year Garfield and the Labour Party, an email was leaked (no pun intended) describing how they continue to plan to sell our own water back to us to the benefit of shareholders while making out we actually have a stake in the privately-owned company.

Garfield said in the email: “One idea we believe might be attractive to the Labour leadership is re-purposing utilities and utility networks into a new breed of declared social purpose companies – companies that remain privately owned, who absolutely can (and should) make a profit, but ones that also have a special duty to take a long-term view.”

Remember the name. Social purpose companies. Starmer will embrace this idea because it is almost as ridiculously fraudulent as he is.

These water company shareholders have pocketed more than £65 billion in dividends since privatisation began, all while dumping unprecedented levels of shit in our rivers and seas, but now they’re in so much debt our bills could increase by as much as 40% to clean up behind yet another privatisation failure.

The easily-manipulated Keir Starmer will continue the Tory model of socialism for the rich and capitalism for the rest because he is a Tory. It’s not particularly complicated.

Replacing one Tory government with another means we are living in a one-party state.

Replacing one Tory government with another means our voting system is irreparably damaged.

Replacing one Tory government with another will keep the poor in their place and the rich in the money.

Surely it must be time for a Labour Friends of Billionaires? It’s not just apartheid states that deserve that honour bestowed upon them, surely?

I feel genuine pity for anyone that still thinks they will get a real Labour government because the evidence points to a slightly less-Tory tribute act that isn’t particularly sure what it stands for.

But Keir Starmer’s Labour does know exactly *who* they stand for, and that’s not the poor and the working classes but the hedge funds and the huge corporations.

The need for a unapologetically socialist political movement that is ready and willing to challenge the Labour Party at the ballot box has never been so great.

Until next time,

Rachael
