Boris Johnson: Neglect, Malice, and Failure

Britain has registered more than 1,300 Covid-19 deaths in the first 3 days of this week.

To give you an idea, this is much like a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet full of British holidaymakers falling out of the sky, each day.

The tragic death toll has gone past the milestone of 50,000 - making Britain the first country in Europe to do so.

The government has tried to normalise this catastrophe, in the hope of avoiding some desperately needed scrutiny.
The government has tried to confuse public messaging. Some say intentionally, others say it is because they really are *that* useless, and they haven’t got a clue what they’re doing, and haven’t had a clue since day one.

Personally, I believe what started out as incompetence is now intentional. After all, you don’t spend HALF A BILLION quid trying to convince people to ‘Eat out to help out’, knowing full well the deadly virus you’ve been suppressing for the last few months, hasn’t just disappeared and gone away.

You wouldn’t allow a festival of horse racing to go ahead. This wasn’t an act of incompetence. This was an act of profiteering. Dig deep enough and you will find the prolific failure Baroness Dido Harding laughing all the way to the bank.

While the rest of the world went into a lockdown, Boris Johnson went on holiday to write his book.

When the rest of the world followed the ‘test test test’ advice from the World Health Organisation, Britain stopped community testing, and Boris Johnson told you to wash your hands while heartedly singing ‘Happy Birthday’ - twice.

What once might’ve been seen as questionable advice from Johnson now looks like an invitation to get measured up for your coffin.

The British government underestimated the impact of Coronavirus reaching these shores. We weren't prepared, we didn’t have a plan, and quite frankly, not a great deal has changed.

The evidence is there for all to see. The soaring death toll, because of the inability to follow scientific advice. Nearly 15,000 people are currently in hospital receiving treatment for Covid-19, and the devastating truth is, some of them won’t come out again.

Does Boris fucking Johnson even know a hospital in Manchester is literally head-to-toe with Covid patients, in A&E, waiting on trollies? The wait is up to FORTY HOURS. What are you going to do about this, Prime Minister?

Why didn’t we learn from the first wave?

Why didn’t we learn to lockdown rapidly? Tens of thousands of lives could’ve been saved had Boris Johnson pulled his finger out of his over-promoted and over-privileged backside, and acted in the best interests of the British people, and acted sooner.

Why are we *still* dressing frontline NHS workers in modified bin liners? Haven’t we handed over enough money to various Tory friends and donors to ensure our heroes have a sufficient supply of PPE?

Why are we still sending our children into school, while the death toll is rapidly climbing and the infection rate is out of control? What happened to the free laptops and 4G broadband for poorer children without a sufficient device to do some school work on? Was it just another headline grabbing lie? I cannot find any evidence to suggest otherwise.

It’s 2020. You can order a pizza from your phone by pressing a couple of buttons, and your pizza will arrive at your doorstep shortly after. You can send money from one side of the planet to the other in a matter of seconds. We’re not far off the first tourist trips into outer space.

But we can’t educate children in their own homes, on a short term basis, because of the embarrassing levels of poverty in Britain? Seriously?

Why are we currently focused on an internal power struggle in Number 10 Downing Street? Carrie doesn’t like so and so and Lee doesn’t like them so Allegra throws a strop, but what about Dom?

Does The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, actually have any say in the day-to-day running of the country, or is he just put up on stage to front the Vote Leave Cabals wishlist for post-Brexit Britain?

The questions are endless, but the answers are non-existent, for it will always be someone else’s fault. It’s never Johnson’s fault. Teachers, nurses, scientists, Corbyn, me, you, the sunshine, moonlight, the boogie, the Unions, NHS workers, but never, ever, is the Prime Minister to blame for his own multiple flaws.

I don’t know about you, but I felt a little numb seeing the tragic death toll pass the 50,000 milestone. My first thought is to think about the families and friends who have lost their loved ones in the most terrible and lonely way imaginable. But it doesn’t take long for the sorrow to turn into anger, because I, just like you, know it didn’t have to be this way.

The news of a 90%+ effective vaccine is encouraging, unless you think Bill Gates is trying to steal your DNA and track your every movement. My own polling of 8,000 people suggested the take-up of any potential vaccine will be around 65%, with another 15% unsure. This is fairly consistent with National polling.

Personally, I don’t like injections. I feel queasy thinking about it. But balanced out with the hope of regaining an iota of normality, I’m in.

We were told our “world-beating” test and trace contact system was one of a number of silver bullets. Instead it ended up being a golden opportunity for the private sector to seize control of a system that should’ve always been in the hands of local authorities, and supported by the government.

Throughout this pandemic, your sacrifices, your suffering and your deep sense of loss, has been nothing but a huge corporate cash cow for the friends and donors of the Conservative Party.

Contract after contract, totalling billions of your Pounds, has been going to firms that often link back to the Tories. Whether it’s one of Dom’s mates, a Tory Councillor, or a company such as failure-addicted Randox - that links straight back to a Conservative MP - there’s no tendering process, no attempt to get best value for your money and no accountability for when these firms fail to fulfill their side of the order.

Keir Starmer mentioned it at this week's PMQs. Welcome to the party, Sir, for we have been challenging the government on this for months on end, while you’ve been selling the soul of the Labour Party to the highest bidder. It’s always a case of too little and too late.

Which Knight of The Realm demanded our children went back to school - no ifs, no buts - through the pages of the fucking Daily Mail?

Have you acknowledged the deaths of teachers yet, Sir Keir? Those teachers that returned to school without a sniff of opposition. Care to apologise?

I thought not.

How blatant do they need to be before you say enough is enough? The political class are taking the piss out of every single one of us.

Going back to the potential vaccine. Based on the multiple failures I’ve just scribbled about, do you honestly think this corrupted inept shower of shit has the ability to administer 40 million doses? Of course not. You’ll have Serco and Deloitte injecting white cider into us.

How are you supposed to have any faith that things will get better when all of the evidence suggests things are currently getting worse, and once again, the government has absolutely no control of the situation?

I return to my earlier point. What started out as negligence beyond all belief has now become the weapon of choice for keeping us in order.

No government could be *this* incompetent.

We also have a Crony-virus problem. The corruption, it’s all there for people to see. The disregard for factual evidence isn’t just an accident. Boris Johnson trashed his own science, and it’s us, the people, that pay the price, emotionally and financially.

SAGE suggested a ‘circuit break’ on the 21st September. The gormless right-wing commentators called it unnecessary scaremongering. Labour leader Starmer, ever the opportunist, jumped on the bandwagon in October (only THREE WEEKS too late) - also calling for a circuit break.

The government finally acted in November.

The government’s top Scientists warned us of more than 200 Coronavirus deaths, every single day, by the middle of November - if we didn’t take the circuit break in September. They were wrong, tragically, very very wrong.

Again, the Hartley-Brewer’s of this world dismissed these predictions as the work of naysayers and doom mongers. Johnson was told a half-term circuit break would significantly reduce the impact of Covid - and he was told this back in September. Johnson didn’t act on the advice.

Yesterday saw 595 deaths announced for the previous 24 hours.

That’s where we are.

The government has allowed this second wave to spread through the population, and now we are seeing the devastating consequences of their catastrophic decisions.

This half-hearted lockdown will lead to yet more broken hearts. They know this, you know this, we ALL know this.

Despite this colossal death toll, the countless failures, the blatant corruption, and the utter disregard for human life, do you know what I find absolutely depressing?

The Labour Party sit four points behind the worst government in living memory, some twenty four points away from the promised land of being twenty points ahead. Starmer’s peak isn’t enough.

Tonight’s (Thursday) ‘No Holding Back’ report, which looks at why the working class have turned their backs on the Labour Party, will be essential viewing, and Starmer will need to take on board the recommendations, if he wants any hope of power. Perhaps you should watch it live, Sir Keir. Here’s a LINK for you.

Divided parties don’t win elections Sir Keir. You’ll work this out for yourself, eventually.

Take good care of yourselves everyone.
