Your Voice, Your Power, Your Vote - Use It

Absolute Ramblings of a metaphor.

‘Why are you bothering?’ is the new mantra adopted here in the UK by many. 


Apathetic. 


Are YOU going to bother? Do you bother? I hope that YOU vote to show that you bother. 


Vote for everything that I despise and loathe if you wish. This is YOUR democratic right.


If YOU do not exercise your democratic right then I say this is not apathetic.


I say that this is defeatism and even cowardly. To just give up and let ‘things’ occur without attempting to turn the rudder of life in a direction that you may like. 


If not for you then for the empathy you hold for others.


I’ve never actually been a skipper and so have no idea as to why I am suddenly so nautical here with rudder talk. 


I once rented a pedalo though in Spain - and I also rode on a big plastic swan at Heaton Park. 


Actually, I think that I can make this rambling metaphor work…


The oceans are unpredictable and yet they are wholly depended upon for their impeccable scheduling.


Tides! Waves! All fun paddling around! Sandcastles (a metaphor right there).


Then, a disaster; an earthquake deep down, triggers a tsunami. 


An eerie stillness to begin with. 


A calmness.


You will be happy and entirely unaware of any impending danger. 


All waters retract and go vanish in a manner that emboldens you to build a larger sandcastle. Build multiple sandcastles and enjoy the majesty of an empty paradise. A blank canvas for you to build upon.


The old adage, the calm before a storm! 

The fun and the paddling and the serenity is then quickly destroyed though. The ocean that had rolled back, gaining YOUR trust, now shows its true intentions…


Tsunami. Everything is likely to be swept away and destroyed by the sheer power of the water. 


The rudder on your boat will now be almost entirely useless as the surge of water carries you against your will.

Keir Starmer Is The Most Deceitful Labour Leader For A Generation

The entirely necessary death of the Conservative party would undoubtedly be so much more congenial if Keir Starmer’s Labour party didn’t spend their time trying to out-Tory the fucking Tories. “But they’re not”, scream the Starmer Stans, knowingly peddling the lies of the establishment favourite and co-defendant of the billionaire media.  Is red authoritarianism more alluring than blue authoritarianism? Is it okay for your right to protest to vanish into thin air because the instigator is carrying a red shroud? Jesus fucking wept. How about your NHS? “Why Are You Employing Tory Policies To Deal With A Tory Crisis?”

It wasn’t really a “shadow cabinet reshuffle”, was it?  I know that’s what the mainstream propaganda called it, but they also called Boris Johnson the greatest Prime Minister since Churchill and Liz Truss a safe pair of hands after the dethroning of the aforementioned  The obsequious lickspittle Starmer should remain on his knees to give thanks to Johnson and Truss because they are the only reasons why he will form the next government.  Surely you didn’t think it was servile Starmer’s complete lack of principles, his marshmallow backbone, and his vuvuzela-like tones that look set to deliver a thumping Labour majority next year, right?  I put myself through the misery of listening to an LBC phone-in with Iain Dale and Rachel Reeves the other day, I’m sure lots of you did too… But one particular caller made the entire 45 minutes worth listening to when he asked Reeves, “why are you employing Tory policies to deal with a Tory crisis?”.  Reeves, along with temporary leader Starmer have mo
